It can sometimes be difficult to find great art activities to do with toddlers. Toddlers do not yet have the dexterity to do intricate artwork. A great activity to do with toddlers is macaroni art. Take different macaroni noodles and allow your child to glue macaroni to a piece of paper. They will enjoy gluing the pieces.
Another great activity is colored sugar art. You can purchase colored sugar or sprinkles at just about any grocery store. You can make a design on a piece of paper using the glue or you can let your child make their own design. Allow your child to sprinkle the different colors of sugar over the glue. After all of the clue is colored hold the page upright and shake off the excess sugar. Allow the glue to fully dry before allowing your child to handle the page. If you are brave and have lots of kids around, try using different things around the house to create large banners and make something as a group!
Baking is always a great activity to do with toddlers. You can make sugar cookies for lots of fun. Buy a package of sugar cookie mix and follow the directions. Take the finished mix and roll it out on a floured table or counter. Allow your toddler to use cookie cutters to cut out different shapes of cookies. Bake the cookies as directed. Take the cookies out and allow them to fully cool. Once they have cooled you can then allow your child to ice and decorate them. They will be so proud of themselves.
Sometimes you just need to think outside of the box when trying to come up with fun activities to do with your toddler. Throughout the day you can do little games with them. Get them to help you match socks, fold a bed, or help wash a mirror. Things that we sometimes think are boring, toddlers may find fun and exciting. Just think like a child and turn everything into a game.
