Kids can often be entertained with little to no equipment or supplies. If you can keep certain supplies on hand at all times you will always be prepared to entertain them. Make sure to always have washable paints and markers. Get plenty of construction paper, glue, tape, and drawing paper. You can often get these supplies for very cheap right before the new school year starts. Crayons, markers, and colored pencils are often on sale for less than fifty cents each.
Once you have all of the supplies you need you will be ready to have the kids create great art. You can teach them to make amazing butterflies. Get them to take a piece of paper and fold it in half. Have the children paint on only one side of the fold. Once they have finished painting fold the no painted side over the painted side. Gently push the two sides together then slowly open the page. You will see a beautiful picture that will look similar to a butterfly. Allow it to fully dry before you let the kids hold it so that they do not get wet paint everywhere.
Another great activity to do with kids is to make hand print butterflies. Take a piece of paper and take it to the table so that it will not move. Allow the children to dip one of their hands in the paint. Tell them to gently press their hand down on the paper. Then tell them to dip their hand in the paint again. Have them place another print on the paper so that the palms are touching and the fingertips look like wings. They can then dip their fingers in different colored paint and make the spots in the butterfly’s wings.
Beautiful creations can be made everyday. If you stay stocked up on all the of necessary supplies art is easy to do. Enjoy the creative time with your kids and have fun, just make sure to have the c fold towels on hand in case you do run into a messy situation!
